Dear Colleagues,

The 6th International Symposium on Graphene Devices (ISGD-6), the principal meeting addressing advanced graphene applications, is offering a unique forum to review the present status, the latest developments, future prospects and related fundamental studies, covering both state-of-the-art experimental and theoretical discoveries.

ISGD-6 will be held at Conference center of ITMO University, St. Petersburg, Russia on 18-21 July, 2018. Saint Petersburg is the second largest city in Russia, and is considered by many to be Russia's most culturally and architecturally Western city. Once the capital of Russia, Saint Petersburg is home to a great number of world famous museums and historical sites, including the Hermitage Museum, Saint Isaac's Cathedral and the Grand Cascade at Peterhof.

The venue continues a biennial series of symposiums initiated in  Aizu, Japan (2008) and went through Sendai, Japan (2010), Saint Aubin, France (2012), Seattle, USA (2014), and most recently in Brisbane, Australia (2016).

Looking forward to welcoming you in St.Petersburg!

Alexander Lebedev (Chair), Ioffe Institute, ITMO University, Russia

Rositza Yakimova (Co-Chair), Linköping University, Sweden

Excursion along rivers and canals of Saint-Petersburg

Pier of departure: 64, Fontanka river embankment (see map)

Pier of arrival of the motor ship: Mytninskaya embankment (right coast of the Kronverksky channel, below Kronverksky bridge).

Time of departure: 18.30

Time of arrival: 20.00

The conference participants for one and a half an hour will have an opportunity to admire the historical part of the city, monuments of architecture of the18-19th centuries - cathedrals, palaces, bridges and embankments of St.-Petersburg. Motor ships will moor to the place where the city has arisen – Zayachy Island where the well-known Peter and Paul Fortress is located. Today there is a working Peter and Paul cathedral, where burials of representatives of the imperial Romanov dynasty, the historical Mint, the Museum of money are located. But almost the whole territory is occupied by the Museum of history of St.-Petersburg with numerous exhibitions and expositions.

Near the main gate of the fortress there is Gorkovskaya metro station, located in a cozy green square. The next station of the blue metro line, Gostiny Dvor, is located in 15-20 minutes of walking from the hotels which are reserved for conference participants. One can also make a foot walk to the hotels through picturesque Palace or Kamennostrovsky bridges. It will take 45-60 minutes.

Right inside the fortress in one of specially equipped rooms with a glass roof (Atrium) the banquet for conference participants is planned. It will begin right after the excursion.

The Symposium will be held at Conference Centre of Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University). Established in 1900, ITMO is one of the leading higher education institutions in Russia, providing training and research in advanced science, humanities, engineering and technology.
